One of the most unknown countries in the world is Turkmenistan. It is located in Central Asia, bordering the Caspian Sea. Most of the country is desert. The capital and largest city of Turkmenistan is Ashgabat. The country's official language is Turkmen, which is a Turkic language.
Burkina Faso is located in Western Africa. Burkina is a name for the country's people. It means honest people. Burkina Faso means land of the honest people. Burkina Faso consists mostly of wooded, grassy plains atop a plateau.
Andorra is in Southwestern Europe between France and Spain. The total land area is 468 sq km. The population is 69,865. It is a small country about 2 1/2 times the size of Washington, D.C. France and Spain supply the defense for this tiny country as it has no military forces. Many tourists visit Andorra each year. They enjoy the rugged beauty of the mountains, the old churches, and the quaintness of the country.
Nauru is located in Oceania, in the South Pacific Ocean, south of the Marshall Islands. Nauru consists of a single island, which has an area of only 8 square miles. It's the third smallest country after Vatican City and Monaco. Nauru has no capital city.
In Western Africa, bordering between Nigeria and Togo is Benin. The population is 7,250,033. Present day Benin was the site of Dahomey, a prominent West African kingdom that rose in the 15th century. The country's name in French, the official language, is Republique du Benin. The nation was called Dahomey until 1975. Porto-Novo is the capital.
