Are you reckoning havoc on your immune system? You probably are and just don’t know it. Here are some things people are guilty of doing to their immune system. It’s important to give your immune system all the support it needs … if you don’t you will get very sick. Your immune system is just like a bridge. It can only take but so much weight and pressure before it breaks apart! Here are 7 no-no's!!
No-no #1: Do you eat sugar and processed foods?
If you didn’t know, sugar has been scientifically proven to decrease immune system functioning. Sugar feeds cancer cells, and other viruses & bad bacteria in your body. Be observant that sugar is present in foods you may not realize, many breads, crackers, ketchup and fruit juice.
No-no #2: Do you fail to get enough rest each night?
Your immune system is just like you. When you don’t get enough sleep, you can barely function. So when you don’t rest and feel not so great, realize that your immune system is experiencing the same thing and not able to function properly too.
No-no #3: Is stress running your life?
When you’re stressed, you make mistakes & sometimes can’t concentrate to get through your day … your immune system reacts similarly to stress by not functioning properly. You can’t eliminate stress but find ways of better coping (i.e. prayer and meditation).
No-no #4: Do you forget to exercise on a regular basis?
Exercise is the best way of helping your immune system. When you exercise, you increase your circulation and your blood flow throughout your body, thus better delivering oxygen and nutrients to your tissues.
No-no #5: Do you ever leave the bathroom without washing your hands?
Washing your hands is vital. If you don’t, you unnecessarily allow yourself to continuously become infected with bad bacteria and viruses that your body has to fight. Over time, you will have overworked your immune system; setting yourself up for a major illness.
No-no #6: Do you eat a “balanced” diet?
Overall, people eat way more meat and grains than they really need. People should eat more RAW vegetables. When vegetables are cooked, almost all of its nutrition is destroyed. One should pay attention to foods that make them feel sleepy, sluggish or nauseous and stay away from them. If you don’t feel good after eating something investigate!
No-no #7: Are you failing to look after your digestive tract?
Scientific research shows 80% of your immune system actually lives right in your digestive tract. What keeps your immune system healthy is through probiotics, healthy bacteria, your normal gut flora. One may eat organic yogurts without artificial sugars, chemicals, or coloring for probiotics.
