Notes from the Editor - November '09

Greetings All:

Thank you all so much for visiting Ri Magazine, the "Urban Intellect." I appreciate all of you! Also, many thanks to all of you for having the hunger to learn more than the garbage those "other" media outlets feed you on a daily basis.

Here at ReVersed Ink magazine, we refuse to continue feeding our urban community junk! You will not see any big booties in thongs or any promotion of urban violence. Nor will you see ANY content that includes OVERLY sexual, alcoholic, demeaning, degrading, or disrespectful components. We are building an online medium for our young impressionable minds to grow intellectually. We have a unique balance of content: entertainment, fun, educational, inspirational and scholarly.

Many Professionals and Indie Artists have NOT been featured in ReVersed Ink Magazine because their music, product or celebrity persona is not uplifting or showcasing clean positivity to our urban community. You may ask, do I regret enforcing high ethical standards at Ri magazine? NOPE, not one bit. I will not allow anyone, regardless of their public status or connections, to degrade the integrity of ReVersed Ink Magazine. Now, if these professionals & artists decide to clean up their act and produce content & products that are uplifting and respectable, then ReVersed Ink will have open arms for them. If they choose to continue to produce trash that degrades or fosters the worse images of the urban community, then you WON'T see them in ReVersed Ink magazine ... that's a promise. We, ReVersed Ink, have a mission, a vision, and principles. These aren't for show or just used because it sounds good. Below, you will see what we stand for:

Mission: to provide uplifting & educational media to the urban community that enhances personal growth, professional growth and shatters the everyday mold of thinking.

Vision: to redesign the concept of “Responsible Media” within the urban community.

Principles:

  • Create and promote only uplifting and enlightening content
  • Value the uniqueness of every individual
  • Make a positive impact within the urban community
  • Disassociate with demoralizing aspects of the urban community
  • Conduct fair and honest business
  • Display true art regardless of commercial appeal
  • Provide interesting, practical, and thought-provoking literary content

In closing, I want to give special praises to The Creator, G-d, The Supreme Energy, the Universe whatever you want to call him/her (I don't want to offend anyone, so I covered all bases LOL!). Secondly, I want to give big thanks to everyone that promote and support the ReVersed Ink movement. To my managing editor, Inna Peace, and to my staff of freelance writers: Brian Cox, Debbie Miceli, Auntie Mommie, and Yasu, THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK! Also supa dupa big thanks to my biggest supporters: my parents (without them, I wouldn’t even be here writing this letter right now), Caribgem of W.O.W. Radio (she’s been supporting ReVersed Ink Mag from back in the day when it was ‘Widow’s Webb Online Mag'), Enoch 7th Prophet of Mental Salvation Radio (he's helped me channel my knowledge to reach a much broader audience), and the interns of Mira Connextionz (holding it down by connecting the public with Ri Magazine).

ReVersed Ink magazine is from my heart to yours: for the community, by the community to uplift the community. To find out more information about our community endeavors, visit http://change.rimagazine.net
